Open Access Directory:
Hosted by the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Simmons College, OAD is "a compendium of simple factual lists about open access (OA) to science and scholarship, maintained by the OA community at large." It is organized as a wiki, and welcomes contributions from the OA community.
Open Achives Initiative
OAI "develops and promotes interoperability standards that aim to facilitate the efficient dissemination of content." It allows the harvesting of metadata from data providers in order to enhance access to e-print archives, and increase the availability of scholarly communication.
Project Euclid
A collaborative partnership between independent and society journals to advance scholarly communication in theoretical and applied mathematics and statistics. Project Euclid features full-text searching, reference linking and long-term data renention.
ROAR
The Registry of Open Access Repositories is a list of open access repositories throughout the world, hosted at the University of Southampton, in the UK.
Science Commons:
Launched with the goal of bringing the openness and sharing of Creative Commons licenses to the world of science, Science Commons designs strategies and tools for faster, more efficient Web-enabled scientific research. It develops and promotes policies and tools to help people and organizations open and mark their research and data sets for reuse.
SHERPA
Partnership of research universites that form a consortium of 32 higher education institutions and the British Library. SHERPA supports and develops institutional repositories in the UK, to expand access to scholarship and perserve digital content.
SPARC
International alliance of academic and research libraries. SPARC works to reform the scholarly publishing system through collaboration with authors, publishers, and libraries to stimulate the emergence of new scholarly communication models that expand the dissemination of scholarly research and reduce financial pressures on libraries
