How to Search for a Title or an Author:
- Go to SCF.edu/library
- Go to search box and select ADVANCED Search to the right of open search field.
- Select limiter Author/Creator or Title.
- To the right, select materials : Book or any format needed.
- Helpful hint: Put title in quotes to search as a phrase.
- Select location as necessary.
Where is the Call Number located? What is a Call Number?
"The Library of Congress Classification (LCC) is a classification system that was first developed in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to organize and arrange the book collections of the Library of Congress. Over the course of the twentieth century, the system was adopted for use by other libraries as well, especially large academic libraries in the United States. It is currently one of the most widely used library classification systems in the world."

Go to SCF.edu/Library
Enter search string into the search box. Put quotes around phrases. Used AND, NOT, OR to refine, delete or add to search. For poetry criticism on Edith Wharton : "poetry criticism" AND "Elizabeth Bishop"
To restrict to books or other formats select books, ebooks or other options from list on the left of search results.
How to Find Copyright, Editions or Editor
Use the DETAILS tab under the title in search results. Author and editor in library catalog:
