Library Mission to Support Nursing BSN

The State College of Florida Library supports the Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) program by providing resources both in print and electronically.  The collection consists of 5,000 print books on nursing, medicine and health sciences, 2,500 electronic books and various print periodicals.  In addition, SCF Library  provides access to journals 24 hours a day through our databases featuring 80 ejournals in OVID. SCF Library also provides instruction to students and faculty in classroom settings, online, and one-on-one on how to access and utilize resources effectively.  SCF Library participates in the Ask-A-Librarian service by providing extended hours of Reference assistance in a live, real time format.  SCF Library strives to meet the needs of users by updating and maintaining a BSN Libguide accessible through the website.  This guide is essential to the research process. Its resources are a collaborative effort with the medical library at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and their medical librarian.  For additional information and assistance contact the Reference desk at 408-1435 in Venice or 752-5305 in Bradenton.
