Look at stories that have made the front page of a local newspaper during the last few days and choose two to discuss why each of these stories made headlines.

The database America's News (Newsbank) consists of the full text of hundreds of newspapers across the United States. It is an excellent source of current event information.  It can be found alphabetically under Databases A-Z or directly with this link.

You will need to sign in.  Sign in is your SCF G#.  The PIN is the last four digits of your G#. 

 

#1) Choose date range.

 

 

#2)  Choose Florida.

 

 

 

#3)  Choose newspaper.

 

 

#4) Choose Date.

 

#5) Choose front page headline.  Newspapers vary in regard to how sections are numbered or identified.  In the Englewood Sun,  the front page would be page 1.  In the 2nd example, the Bradenton Herald uses alphabet and numbers for their sections. Choose A01 for front page articles.
