Terms and Conditions of Use

Students will need a notebook/laptop computer or other device equipped with a wireless card that supports the WiFi standard.
State College of Florida assumes no responsibility for the safety of equipment.

Security Considerations

Wireless access is by nature an insecure medium. As with most wireless networks, any information being sent or received over the State College of Florida wireless network could potentially be intercepted by another wireless user. Cautious and informed wireless users should not transmit their credit card information, passwords and any other sensitive personal information while using a wireless "hot spot".

Anyone using the State College of Florida wireless network is forewarned that there can be no expectation of privacy when using the wireless network. Users assume all associated risks and agree to hold harmless State College of Florida and its employees for any personal information (e.g. credit card) that is compromised, or for any damage caused to users' hardware or software due to electric surges, security issues or consequences caused by viruses or hacking. All wireless access users should have up-to-date virus protection on their personal laptop computers or wireless devices, as well as staying up-to-date with applicable OS security patches.

Wireless for Students

To access the Internet wirelessly from your laptop, tablet, or other device, follow these simple steps:

 

  1. Open the Network Connection window in your device.

  2. Select the network called SCF-Students

  3. Type the key    GoManatees!    and confirm by typing it again. Use the exact capitalization as shown, since it is case sensitive.

  4. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

  5. Agree to the Terms and Conditions by typing your Student ID and Password (the same as SCF Connect.)

Wireless for Faculty and Staff

Staff and faculty can access the Internet wirelessly by following these steps:

 
  1. Open the Network Connection window in your device.

  2. Select the network called SCF-Employees

  3. When prompted, type your SCF ID and password.

  4. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

  5. Agree to the Terms and Conditions by typing your SCF ID and Password.

Wireless for Guests - Bradenton

 

In order to get access, guests should approach the Circulation Desk with a photo ID and request a user ID and Password.
 
Once you have a user ID and Password, please follow these steps to access the Internet:


1.    Open the Network Connection window in your device.


2.    Select the network called SCF-Guests


3.    Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)


4.    Agree with the Terms and Conditions by typing the user ID and password provided

Wireless for Guests - Venice & LWR

Venice Guest Wireless

Open the Network Connection window in your device.

 

1.    Open the Network Connection window in your device.


2.    Select the network called SCF- Guests


3.    Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)


4.    Agree with the Terms and Conditions by typing the user ID: VenGuest and password: VenGuest@SCF

LWR Guest Wireless

Open the Network Connection window in your device.

 

1.    Open the Network Connection window in your device.


2.    Select the network called SCF- LWR Guests


3.    Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)


4.    Agree with the Terms and Conditions by typing the user ID: lwrGuest and password: lwrguest@SCF
