RefWorks: Getting Started


RefWorks is a powerful tool for collecting and managing citations for research papers and other assignments.  You can read annotate, organize, and cite your research as well as collaborate with friends and colleagues by sharing collections. From simple bibliographies to papers formatted with in-text citations or footnotes, RefWorks handles it all. Get started by creating your account. See below.

Create Your Account: Step by Step Instructions

SCF students, faculty and staff have institutional RefWorks account available to them. 

Create a RefWorks account:

1. Go to Log in with your SCF borrower ID and PIN (G00#  & last four numbers of G00#). 

2. This will take you to the RefWorks login page. From here, click the “Create an Account” link. You will be asked to fill in your information.

Be sure to use your SCF email addressYou cannot sign up with personal email accounts such as Yahoo, Gmail, etc.). 

3. You will receive an email and a link to complete the registration process. Once you activate your account you’ll get access immediately and can get started managing your documents.
