Manipulating Media

Essentially the same presentation in different PTCH styles illustrating the strengths and use of each. These presentation are for illustrative purposes only, but may accidentally contribute to learning.

Original

Captions: White Letters.
Title cards: White letters. Can contain approximately 10 words.
Images: Appear as they do the SELECT page.
Moderne

Captions: Appear to the left or right of image. Black letters.
Title Pages: Have a moving black line that really draws attention to the text. Nice white space. Can handle about 7 words.
Images: May need to condensed or edited. As images end up next to each other in some frames, might be a good opportunity to emphasize something specific in a larger image.
Epic

Captions: White letters. ALL CAPS.
Title Cards: White letters. ALL CAPS. Can handle about 8 words.
Images: Stay true to images selected.

May be best for a visual presentation that doesn't rely on words but for introduction or highlighting a break in narrative.
Soho

Captions: White on bottom of screen. ALL CAPS.
Title Cards: Magenta. ALL Caps. Fades in with dramatic ribbon swirl.
Images: True to select screen, but have peachish cast to them.
Vivid

Captions:  Beige letters, BOLD and in CAPS
Title Cards: Same as Captions. No more than 4 words.
Images: Real clear. Uses spinning transitions.
Bam

Captions:  Black letters on white cartoon balloon. Can contain 10 words
Title Card: Bright colored letters on bright colored BAM! bursts. No more than 5 words.
Images: A little blurry. Not good for detail or images of fine letters.
Fillmore

Captions: Light yellow. Appear at top. Flush right. Italics.
Title Cards: Light Yellow. Somewhat bold. Can contain 6 words.
Images: Darker than originals, blurred at edges, a little unclear.  Dark brown background.
Paranormal

Captions: White. Old typewriter style font. Appear just down from the top, in different places.
Title Cards: Appear over images in the middle. White letters. Slightly larger typewriter style font.
Images: Distorted and larger. Special effects including random images some of which may be unsettling.

Based on Paranormal film franchise. No music.
Kane

Captions:  White. ALL CAPS. Appears in various places.
Title: Same as above.
Images: Black and white. Some blurring around edges. Flash effects.
