Mobile Library Apps

Kanopy offers access to classics and contemporary classics that inspire thoughtful entertainment. Kanopy's catalog includes select films from the Criterion Collection, Arthouse favorites, and even recent releases from A24.

Please note that Kanopy is intended for individuals who are 18 years and older; movie ratings are indicated in the details section of the film.

1. From your mobile device open your app store and download the Kanopy app by Kanopy, Inc.
   1. Apple Store (iOS devices. Please note, the app developer is listed as Thoughtful Entertainment)
   2. Google Play Store (Android devices)
   3. Amazon App Store (Kindle Fire)
2. Once the app has finished downloading, click on the "Get Started" button and search for State College of Florida under "Find University"
3. Log in with your MySCF account information
   1. If this is your first time using Kanopy, you will need to create an account
   2. If you have logged in to the Kanopy website you will then be prompted to sign in with the "Log In" button in the top right corner of the screen
4. Browse and enjoy!

Kanopy features a menu bar along the bottom of the app:

• The Home button takes you to the main page where you can browse the collection
• The Browse button lets you view categories that you can select to narrow your search
• The Search button lets you search by keywords, artists, or film titles
• The My Lists button will take you to the movies you have started watching, or the ones you have flagged to watch later
• The More button will let you access account information, linking options for streaming devices, settings, and help.

Finding a movie:

• Kanopy's menu is located along the top of the web browser
• Hovering over Browse will open a menu with featured categories, as well as popular subjects
• My Lists will take you to movies you are currently watching, or ones you have flagged to watch later
• Search will let you search for keywords, artists, or film titles. It also brings up filters along the left side of the screen that let you limit results by subject, language, and more

Watching a movie:

• Clicking on the still image associated with the movie you have selected will bring up more details about that film
• From here you can play the movie, add to your watchlist, or view a trailer
• You can also see a synopsis and details of the film, the year it was produced, if it is available with closed captions, and a rating (when applicable)
• Kanopy offers a tutorial page that goes over the in-movie controls, and provides an instructional video if you need more assistance
