Library of Congress-Country Studies:  Contains the electronic versions of 80 books previously published in hard copy as part of the Country Studies Series by the Federal Research Division. Intended for a general audience, books in the series present a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of select countries throughout the world. Most books in the series deal with a single foreign country, but a few cover several countries or a geographic region. 

CIA WorldFactBook The World Factbook provides information on the history, people, government, economy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 267 world entities.

Conversations with History  Recorded interviews with various individual scanning the globe. Interviewees include politicians, diplomates, activists, artist and entertainers, those involved in political science as well economists and soldiers.

Dag Hammarskjold Library:  Since 1946, the Dag Hammarskjöld Library has arranged for the distribution of United Nations documents and publications to users around the world through a network of depository libraries.  At present, there are 351 depository libraries located in 136 countries and territory.

European UnionThe EU was not always as big as it is today. When European countries started to cooperate economically in 1951, only Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands participated.Over time, more and more countries decided to join. The Union currently counts 27 EU countries. The United Kingdom withdrew from the European Union on 31 January 2020.
