CALI stands for Computer Assisted Legal Instruction.
SCF has a membership to CALI and you may be inclined to do some studying using the CALI lessons. There are over 675 instructions in the law that are available in the CALI website.
To log on to CALI: Students will need an authorization code: SCF Paralegal students who do not have an authorization code yet should send an e-mail to email@example.com.
Once you receive your authorization code, you can register by going to www.CALI.org.
Click on the "not registered user yet?" link and follow the instructions.
The authorization code is used only the first time when someone registers on the website. During registration you will create your own password. On subsequent visits to the website, you will log on by just entering your e-mail address and the password you created.
If you have problems, contact the CALI help desk.
AFTER GETTING INITIAL LOG IN--RUNNING A LESSON:
When you select the lesson you are assigned, you will be taken to the main page of that lesson. Press "Run Lesson". Next, select "Table of Contents" icon at the bottom of the page that appears. The table of contents is the main navigation area of each lesson. Once you select the first item in the table of contents, you proceed through the lessons using the "Next" key on the screen, but when CALI automatically takes you to the table of contents of your lesson, you will then move on to the next lesson topic in the table of contents.
The lessons have some question topics that will enhance your learning. The CALI system will keep a running total of your score, BUT once you run through the entire lesson you need to point and click on the "Complete the Lesson" icon. You will be brought to a page where you should "Finalize the Score". You will then be taken to "Your Lesson Runs" where there will be a link to "Print Certificate". Click on the link and your certificate will open. You can save the certificate if you wish.
You are welcome to do any of the CALI exercises you wish. You will have access to CALI until graduation! The following CALI lessons are recommended by faculty.
While all SCF Paralegal students may take CALI lessons, the following courses have specific CALI assignments. Click on the small down arrow on the CALI tab for specific instructions in each of these courses.
