Why do we need to learn citation?
According to Oxford English Dictionary, Plagiarism is defined as: The action or practice of taking someone else's work, idea, etc., and passing it off as one's own; literary theft.

In other words, unless the information that you are using consist of your own thoughts or common knowledge (VERY common, like the year when Columbus crossed the ocean blue), you have to attribute it to the person whom originally produced it.
