Welcome to the SCF Libraries guide for SCFCS teachers!

We look forward to partnering with you to help our SCFCS students achieve their best. This guide contains information about our services and ways for you to request visits, instruction, or submit ideas for collaboration.

  • Please contact our librarians Meg Hawkins (Bradenton) or Theresa Smith-Ennis (Venice)  for reading programs, class visits, research needs, collaboration ideas, or suggestions to improve our services.
  • Please contact Marissa (Bradenton) or Mariam (Venice) for overdue books, holds, or issues with library accounts.

Services for SCF Collegiate School Teachers

SCF Teachers & Staff have the following privileges:

  • Books: 3 weeks
  • DVDs: 1 week
  • eBooks, online databases, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, etc.
  • Librarians' consultations in person
  • Ask a Librarian: online chat, phone, email
  • Room reservations in the Library
  • Equipment check out (varies, please check our website)

 

Services for your classes:

  • Schedule visits to the Library's Reading Room
  • Request Librarians' Lessons on research, citing, & information literacy
  • Contact us to plan special events: poetry slams, speakers, exhibits & displays, and more!

  • A librarian's presentation or instruction on information literacy, research tips, citation/plagiarism, etc.
  • An orientation on how to use the Library Resources.
  • A librarian's overview of particular topics for research projects.
  • A workshop or a collaborative lesson (librarian/teacher.)
  • A librarian's visit to your classroom.
